Uploading Site

  hello friends..

  I donot know before posting i need to do search for some quick answer ..did for more than a hour but no luck..

  Hope someone might have good idea about wordpress admin part.

  I need to know how to upload a site in WordPress so that It can be impacted on the url in wordpress.

  Lets see i have url called http://abc.wordpress.com

  now I have customize and make changes in my local pc and now want to upload into server.Gone through Documednation dowlond filezilla..but no luck…
  Can any one suggest what would be the steps which need to perform for a person who is very new to WordPress environment for porting the pages.

  Any help, back reference document, any link would be highly apprecaited..

  WordPress.com blogs are not downloadable and customizable. All the software running the blogs resides with WordPress itself. We cannot make changes as you are attempting to do by downloading it and uploading a new version. The only way to customize your WordPress.com blog is to buy the CSS upgrade so you can change the look. Otherwise, you can get a downloadable version of slightly older WordPress software from WordPress.org and find your own hosting. That will work the way you’re talking about.

  All WordPress.com blogging is done either live in the Write Post window or offline using blogging software like Blogdesk, etc.

  thanks for clarification.

  I was looking to add some modification in the one of template that wordpress provides in term of header and header images, for this i was looking some control panel so that I can upload directly from my desktop.

  I think K2 allows customizable headers, but am not 100% sure.

  The names of the themes that allow customizable headers and the sizes are in this thread were obtained by using the search box on the FAQs blog http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/08/which-themes-can-i-add-a-header-image-to/
