  So, unfamiliar with the way wordpress works, I already purchased a domain, as well as purchased a theme from themeforest. If there is no way to upload my theme to my website, is there any way to change my domain name over to a web-hosting company that will let me upload my theme?

  If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers
