uploading themes

  is the only way to upload a completly differne theme, other than the themes avaible already, by buying a domain?

  i want to use a theme i liked from http://themes.wordpress.net/ but i’m not sure if it’s possible.

  Actually even buying a domain won’t allow you to do that. We’re on a shared environment here and, if you were able to upload a theme, you would be putting at risk everybody here at wp.com.

  Your best bet would be to grab the software from http://wordpress.org and find yourself a host.
