uploading vector graphic

I am trying to upload a vector graphic. We have tried to download the svg plugin but it just downloads to my desktop. I have tried to drop the image into the gallery and it also does not work. Is there any where i can get step by step directions to do this? Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Allowed file types: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, pdf, doc, ppt, odt, pptx, docx, pps, ppsx, xls, xlsx.

It does not look like svg is allowed

Also Plug-in’s are not allowed on WordPress.COM for security reasons

Yes. I would really prefer to upload vector-based (specifically, SVG) rather than raster-based images, but as auxclass noted, it’s not one of the allowed file types. I suppose the reasoning is that they’re a security risk? I think they’re pretty much supported by all the major browsers at this point. If nothing else, they’re extremely prevalent on Wikipedia.

Has anyone heard anything about when/whether the Powers that Be might consider allowing SVGs?

Don’t hold your breath. In the seven years I’ve been here the list of accepted file types has expanded by I believe three.
