Uploading video via DVD…

Unfortunately my Luddite background is getting in the way of understanding the other forum threads on video posting…my question: if I want to upload several 8 to 10 minute videos to a WordPress.com blog, using an original DVD as the source material, how do I go about doing that? Do I need to transfer the DVD material to other media? Is it just a question of purchasing the space upgrade, and if so, how basic is the uploading process? Sorry if this is a super-obvious question, just unsure of what I can and can’t do here…

You will definitely need to convert it to an acceptable format. I would also recommend you use an external video site, such as YouTube or Google Video to actually host it. The quality is better and they are dedicated to streaming such videos. You would then only need to embed the video into your blog.
We cannot help you with the conversion process. There is software out there for converting from DVD to MPG, WMV or other format.
