Uploading Videos

This is an update, and a very, very happy one. A number of days ago, it became absolutely impossible for me to upload videos to my blog. I tried everything, I do mean everything, and nothing worked. Supreme frustration… At first, support replied with some suggestions that I had already tried, but to no avail. Then, one support staff member took an interest that involved a number of quick back-and-forth responses. And then…finally, wonderfully the problem was resolved. Of course, I don’t know who really did what, but THANKS!! And I must say that as of now, WordPress videos are a vast improvement, they’re beautiful!! People who want to know what I mean can take a look at this:

Thanks, thanks again to WordPress staff members!!

    Hi,

First, I downloaded the YouTube video to my desktop using Seatubes. You can also download a YouTube video using free online converters, such as: Converttube, Vixy, Zamzar or Movadi. If you use Seatubes (which I like, because it seems to result in downloaded videos of noticeably higher quality), you then need to convert the video from an flv format to either a mov or mp4 format. An easy way to convert flv to a mov format is to open the flv video in Quicktime and then save it as a Quicktime movie. You can then upload it from your desktop to your blog as a WordPress video by using upload in your editor (assuming that you’ve purchased the space to upload videos).

Hope this might be of some help.

    And to raincoaster,

    Thanks!!

let’s say you did the above with a mp4 (h264) which results in good looking videos….does the wp player regenerate it back in to flash within the player?

If it stays as a mp4 the many windows users without quicktime installed might not see it???
