All,
I posted a video to my blog, but the detailed post has the video displaying as ‘smooshed’. Can you please advise?

I’m not sure why this is happening, but it looks like there may have been something wrong with the upload. Can you try uploading the video to your Media Library again?
-
Hi Shawna, I re-uploaded, but I am having the same issue. I also tried a new video, but same issue.
-
Thanks so much for doing that. Sorry for the delay, I was trying to figure out what could be causing this. I found this older post with a video that’s “smooshed” as well. Did this video used to look like this? Or was it fine previously?

No worries. Can you tell me a little bit about how you edit and save these videos? From my testing, this issue isn’t happening to videos other people upload, but your videos have the same issue when I tested the embeds on my test site. So it’s not theme related, and it doesn’t seem to be our system as a whole.
I wonder if your video editing software has a setting somewhere that’s causing the size of these videos to be mis-set.

Hi,
I uploaded this video as a QuickTime move (54,672 KB): http://bbhmarketsblog.wordpress.com/2014/10/31/88/And this video was also QuickTime (48,389 KB): http://bbhmarketsblog.wordpress.com/2014/09/12/faq-scottish-referendum/
Does that help?

Do you still have the original files? Can you open them in QuickTime and try exporting or saving them in a different file format? Are you doing anything particular in the editing process, like rotating or flipping all or portions of the video?
-
When they open, they actually open in Windows Media Player.
When I upload them, I do not rotate or flip. I just click the ‘Add Media’ link above the text box (when drafting a new post). This generates text in parentheses that is included in the text box.Can we hop on a call to discuss?
-
I’ve sent you an email where someone will contact you about scheduling a phone call.
In the meantime, I would suggest opening the file in whatever program you edit the video in and save it as a different file type (for example .m4a or .ogg). You can usually find this option in your menu under File > Save As… or File > Export.
Try uploading that new file to your Media Library.

Hi Shawna – I have not heard from someone regarding a phone call. Could you please advise?
Thanks,

Hi Tara,
I’m very sorry about that. It looks Chris got in touch with you after I pinged him yesterday. Please let us know if there’s anything else I can help with.
