uploading videos

  Hi

  I want my welcome video to be displayed on my home page. How do I do this? At the moment I am cutting and pasting my video url from previous to latest post everytime I publish something new. Is there any way my video can just sit somewhere in the top half of the home page so it is prominent when people log onto blog? Also, is there any way I can set the video to play automatically when someone visits my home page?

  You can do this by setting the post containing your welcome video to ‘sticky’. This will keep it at the top of the page, even when you make new posts.

  There isn’t a way to make the video auto-play at this time.

  Hi, thanks for such a quick response I’ve only just posted this. I’m not very computer literate and struggle big-time with this. can you tell me how to set the page as “sticky”. Thanks.

  No problem. :)

  • Go to the Posts page from your blog’s Dashboard menu on the left side of your screen
  • Hover your mouse pointer over the post title you want to make sticky
  • Click the ‘Quick Edit’ link that appears, and a new mini-menu will show under the post title
  • On the far right side of that menu, click the ‘Make this post sticky’ checkbox, then click the Update button

  Thanks, much appreciated….does this mean that the post itself will remain at the top or just the video?

  Yes, when you make the post sticky, the entire post stays at the top, not just the video.
