Uploading videos from computer

I am trying to upload my own video to my Hemingway wordpress blog and embed it in a post, so far I have met a lot of problems and not had much support from wordpress, firstly I wanted to embed from vimeo as the quality is much better – but I could not seem to change the size of the embed! Then I tried Youtube which I could change the size but the quality was not the best when compressed!

So i found this page: http://support.wordpress.com/videos/ – This explains that I can upload from my computer which wordpress say supports “The video player supports avi, m4a, mp4, mpg, mov, wav, and wmv.” Yet when I go to upload I just get this – “Allowed file types: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, pdf, doc, ppt, odt.” Which is the same as the image uploader and not like the illustration shown on the support page??
So then I try to upload via the button that says “Try the Flash uploader instead.” which means I can see my files on my desk to and I hit upload, it trys but then sends back “File type does not meet security guidelines. Try another.”

***I have just noticed that I need to buy a space upgrade before I purchase this, has anyone done this and what is the quality like?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello,

I have just tried the upgrade, I should have maybe read a bit more thoroughly before posting my first, I am happy with the results when HD is On, but the only thing I would say is that there should be a feature to have this turned on from the outset or saved as HD as it means I will have to ask users to switch the HD ON via a a message which is not ideal but I may go with this as the quality is excellent when ON.

    Hope this helps others

    Thanks Again
