  Hey there @emilysbrown101, are you trying to use the Wix import tool? If you are and it’s failing, it sounds like you’re having the same trouble as our friend in this thread.

  Our import tool will do its best to pull in the content, but sometimes their system won’t allow it for whatever reason. In a case like that it can be best to import your content manually. Use these steps:

  • If your Wix site has blog posts, go to https://wordpress.com/post and start copying your content over. If you want to do your best to make sure links keep working, use the same title for each post, same content, same pictures (be sure to add alt text). You can pick whatever layout makes sense for each post, and you can backdate them if you’d like. I recommend adding tags and categories, too. Then publish, and do the next post.
  • For pages (like an about page for example) use https://wordpress.com/page – again, use the same titles and copy your text over. Publish each one as you go.
  • When you’re done copying all of that over, you can pull together the site with your front page settings, a menu, and any style / layout adjustments you like, then connect your domain.
