Uploading website content

I have already prepared my website content on my local drive containing .htm, .css,.js, .jpg, .mp3 files. Can I upload these files to my new website on wordpress.com ? I would like to opt for free domain and minimum hosting charges (Rs. 360 per month). Can I get ftp access for this?

It’s totally impossible on the wordpress.com what you want to do. WordPress;com is a CMS – Content Management System – and it doesn’t work with html and css files. Nor can you have FTP-access on the wordpress.com platform.
Or you rebuild your site on the wordpress.com platform – https://wordpress.com/pricing/ – or you try to find a hosting company that fits your needs.

  • Hi @ma100new – here on WordPress.com hosting FTP access comes in the form of SFTP through the Business plan or higher: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

That said, if you are interested in building your own custom WordPress environment, in a low cost environment, reach out for help and guidance in the community WordPress.org support forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/

As @staartmees says, we have lower costing plan options here at WordPress.com, but you would need to consider building your site from scratch using our shared hosting options.

Let us know if you have any other questions about our plans and pricing.
