Uploads to WP server e.g. plugins etc??

  I have happily had my blog on the main WP server now for the past 2 years, but having just discovered the joys of XAMPP etc and installed my blog on there with all the extra fun that provides, I just wondered is there no way I can install plugins (as opposed to widgets) on the main WP blog? I’ve not noticed anything relating to plugins at all, so suspect not, but wanted to make sure before I go and work towards setting this up on my own server.

  Thanks – appreciate the prompt response and confirmation of my own suspicions on it :). Pity in a way, but appreciate it would probably open up the server to too much spam and other such problems etc. At least now I now I need to shift the blog if I want to do some more fancy things on it than I can currently. Appreciated. Romayne
