UrbanSpoon Widgets?

  I’d like to see support that makes the bottom 2 UrbanSpoon widgets for bloggers work: http://www.urbanspoon.com/u/blog_widgets/23/5191#widget

  There are reviewer widgets too, that may work better.

  The map is just cool.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  If Urban Spoon would develop an HTML only version of the widget, it would work.

  No WordPrecc.com will nt do something about this. This is why. Our free hosted WordPress.com blogs are not free standing blogs. There are codes that are redistricted here to preserve security and stability as this is a multiuser blogging platform. As the widget you refer to is JavaScript the software will strip out the code. If you do not wish to accept the limitations here you will need to hire a webhost and set up your own self hosted wordpress.ORG install.

  Thanks for posting into this thread. I did not know you had already approached Staff. There are many ideas in this forum that are posed to Staff for consideration. We Volunteers have no idea which ones will be selected and acted upon or if they are selected what the timeframe for introduction may be.

  I don’t know why you had that impression. I was busy answering questions as quickly as I could and immediately shared what I knew. I did not know you had contacted Staff and they told you post here. I went to the site saw that the widgets were Javascript and iframes. Then I posted. Based of over 5 years of being here at WordPress.com I suggest you don’t hold your breath while waiting. ;)

  And I’ve been of the opinion the Ideas forum was something staff created so people could blow off steam and THINK they were submitting ideas, without staff having to actually do something about it.

  Still, plenty of sites do offer HTML-only versions, and lots of people want to add Urban Spoon to their WP.com blogs. You’d think they’d work on it. As far as I know, no developers cruise this forum at all.
