    TLD (Top Level Domain) is not a typo at all.

    there many other TLDs besides .com

    @options
    there are many .tlds beside com
    Yes there are but in this case what we are aimed at is a back-up of links from a wordpress.com blog. So taking .tld out will do the job, won’t it? And if not then why not? {willing to learn}

    ahh… surely, it will do! ;-)

    so if what “we are aimed at is a back-up of links from a wordpress.com blog”, then the whole domain in the URL mentioned above should be altogether replaced with: ‘http://MYBLAG.wordpress.com‘ (instead of ‘http://mydomain.com’) as well, shouldn’t it?

    I just thought about your tutorial as a slightly more WP generic one, which may also consider wp.com custom mapped and might even off-hosted .org blogs like: changingways.org or photomatt.net for instance.

    Granted the tutorial was more generic. :)

    .., one may find it hard to explain their particular point so it get apprehended out of the gate ;-)

    Thanks to options for pointing out a certain illogicality in my thinking. I have a tendency in forum stuff to try and keep things simple to eliminate likely errors. tld struck me as one. But it is not actually wrong of course. Just confusing to an inexperienced user. And I might add that other than TT / rain’s fine expo this info is almost impossible to find.
