Hi there, I’ve tagged WordPress.com staff to help you with this issue. You’ll likely receive a response within a few hours from a staff member: https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question

Hope this gets resolved soon. :)

    Domain:mcmillanstartups.com
    Registrar:Wild West Domains, LLC
    Expiration Date:2018-08-02
    Name Servers:
    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com

You need to be logged in to the correct account that purchased the domain to renew it from the Manage Purchases page. I have added the modlook tag to ask if a member of staff could advise which account you need to access.

I am not the main user on the account, the person is no longer with our company. I need to have it transferred to me so I can renew.

Based on your reply – am I renewing in the main WordPresss Account? I’ve already reached out to Wild West domains and they told me to call you.

Only the owner of site/domain can transfer domain/site to another WordPress.com account. Have you all the admin login details? Is the email address associated with the site still available to you?

  • Hi there,

Just to confirm, you wish to renew the domain, mcmillanstartups.com? Our logs show that domain was renewed yesterday, and will expire in August 2019.

That domain, along with two others, belong to a different account, username mcmillanstartups. That account is also owner of the site itself.

Only the owner of an upgrade can renew it, and only the account that owns a site or a domain upgrade can transfer it to another user. We literally cannot transfer the domain to your account, no matter what verification you provide, as that would be in violation of ICANN regulations and the option for me to do that simply does not exist in our system.

So the only way for you to gain control over the domains on that site is to contact the current owner and ask them to transfer ownership of the domains to you or another admin on the site, or for them to turn over control of the entire WordPress.com account to you.
