URGENT: A record disappeared can't put it back

  Hi,
  I needed to change the a record for a domain name I bought at wordpress.com, I couldn’t edit it so I had to put it in the trash , but now i t says “handled by wordpress” and my website won’t point to my self hosted site and I can’t change it at all, when I try adding a new one it says INVALID NAME please help!!!
