URGENT DNS Issue. Problem appears to be within wordpress DNS. Site unreachable

@jackiedana – the domain now resolves for me also – and I am sure that you did the due diligence especially given this thread –

Has a bug report been turned in for Domain Helper? That is the only tool I am aware of that non-staff have for some checking – had it worked correctly this thread would have been much easier to deal with

    thanks for checking

PS – it would be also nice if Domain Helper would indicate if the domain was mapped or redirected – currently both return the same answer – would have saved a lot of confusion a few days ago when a blogger had bought the site redirect and not domain mapping – would have saved 6 or 7 back and fourth’s before they had some fine print in their answer that indicated that they had gotten the site redirect and not the domain mapping they needed.

PS – PS – the time an upgrade was purchased would also help when telling the blogger to be patient and would also indicate when an upgrade had expired

    thanks

    Hi auxclass,

I’m not sure if there’s a bug in the Domain Helper or not, based on this one incident. I’ll make a note of this example for now for our developers, but if you run into future issues with it, please let me know, so we can examine it as a pattern of failures.

As far as your other ideas, I’ll see what we can do.

Domain Helper now shows mapping but says the name servers are not set correctly for australia30.com.au

    Thanks for the update

The suggestions would make life easier in the forum

    thanks

Everything looks okay to me other than that the domain needs to be set as the primary domain (and the DNS records may still need time for propagation).

@auxclass, I was thinking this all sounded familiar to me, so I did a search and discovered I had submitted this enhancement request for the domain helper tool back in May.

@dannydavisvandiscomau, once you set your primary domain, you should be good to go.

I now see the same thing as your screen shot

yes – once in a while one of my friends used to say on some items I was a bit like a broken record (if anyone remembers what they are) – and on other design & engineering support jobs I used to have I would go back and review suggestions and consider them again if appropriate

    thanks for submitting the suggestions

Thank you folks. Not sure what you did, but while I slept peacefully here on the other side of the planet – but whatever you did was good.

    Many thanks, much appreciated.

Many thanks @auxclass and @jackiedana for resolving the issue.

As the admin main account of this blog I had though it’d bought the right domain mapping and site redirect . However that didn’t work initially when my IT mgr redirected the net registry domain to the WP NDNS.

so I upgraded to premium and the store said that the mapping was now covered under the premium and had adjusted the price accordingly. This is why I thought it should work. Then I checked again and it didn’t work for another week and so we got net registry to redirect again. Still didn’t work.

As it was beyond my capabilities I made Danny admin to try and fix it.

I love WP CMS and am really happy with the site just frustrated I couldn’t share it with the world!
