URGENT: DNS Settings Changed – Cannot Access Admin
-
Hi! DNS settings were changed today by someone trying to apply an SSL certificate, and now we can no longer access admin dashboard to change back.
I’ve reviewed some of the other posts on this but I don’t understand why they’re sending me to a page that explains how to do what was trying to be done, not showing how to reverse it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Your domain, max-solar.com, does not have any connection to any WordPress.com site or account. I see its name servers are pointed to us, but that change was made at your domain provider, 1and1.com. It looks like this change was made yesterday, according to https://securitytrails.com/domain/max-solar.com/history/ns
To fix this you’ll need to log in at 1and1 and set the name servers back to what they should be. Once they’re pointed to your actual hosting provider again, you should be able to access your site and any email you have set up on that domain should work again.
I’m guessing the person who made this change thought this would allow a WordPress.com SSL certificate to be set up on the site, but that only happens if the site is hosted with us, and the domain connected to WordPress.com via a domain mapping upgrade on our end. Instead you’ll need to ask your hosting provider for their process for enabling SSL on a site, as this process tends to be different for each hosting provider.

Hi kokkieh, Thank you so much for this. Was able to get the name servers back but i still cannot access the wordpress admin portion — could be because i haven’t waited long enough?
http://www.max-solar.com/wp-admin brings me to a “This page was just registered”

Hi there,
For that, you need to contact your hosting provider. Since your site is not hosted we us we have no way of knowing what’s wrong except making speculations.
