Hi there,
From what I can see you last renewed hooria.org in 2020, which you can confirm here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/
However I do not see a renewal in 2021. According to our records you had initially attempted to transfer hooria.org some months ago but cancelled that transfer? From what I can see auto-renewals was turned off on your domain and thus it was not renewed.
At this point the domain has been returned to the registry and is not under our direct control. The good news is that we may be able to recover your domain, but there will be a late renewal fee to do so.
Please check your inbox for the invoice we just sent, which will include a link to pay for the renewal of as well as the late renewal fee.
After you make payment please return here to let us know so we can take the next step of recovering the domain.
IMPORTANT: We do not know to recover the domain unless you let us know you have made payment, so please be sure to come back here and update us, thanks!

Well, I never attempted to transfer my domain. And I never turned off the auto-renewal. This is very strange when I have had this domain with WordPress since as far as I could remember.
Why is there going to be a late fee when my card was there on the system to be charged? And why wasn’t I reached out if there were any issues with payment?
I have had no such issues with WordPress before. Request you to please look into this matter and help resolve this issue without any late fee.
I look forward to hearing back soon.

Hi there,
Well, I never attempted to transfer my domain. And I never turned off the auto-renewal.
Your domain’s log shows that on February 23, 2021, you initiated a transfer. You even got the authorization code emailed to the address associated with your domain. This process turns off the auto-renewal feature.
Please note that the transfer is a process that only the owner of the domain can perform. No even we are not able to do so.
Why is there going to be a late fee when my card was there on the system to be charged?
I checked the domain’s status and it’s currently on hold. This means that we may still be able to recover your domain at its regular renewal price of $18 and for that, I have already emailed you a new payment request. Please reply back if you have submitted the payment so that we can begin the recovery process.

Hello, I made the payment but I still cannot see it under my domains. Can you please re-activate it at the earliest.
-
Thank you, I can confirm you have made payment. As I mentioned at this point the domain has been returned the the registry, so we have emailed them and asked that they restore your domain to our account, so we can reactivate it.
As soon as we have an update we will let you know. Thanks for your patience!

Hi there,
I wanted to let you know that the domain name has been recovered, and is in your account again.
If you have any questions, please let us know!

Hi there, thanks for the update. But why does the renew date shows May 20 and not August 2, 2022 – considering the website was off because of the domain issue.
-
Since the domain was in held in status, it is renewed under the original term.
For it to be renewed out a year, you’d have to wait for it to re-enter the public market, which can take several months.
These policies are imposed on us and all domain registrars by the organization which oversees us, ICANN, and cannot be changed.
