Urgent help needed getting back into my own site

I hired a web designer to help with my site – he put a ‘holding page’ on my website, http://www.booksandbicycles.com – and did various bits and pieces elsewhere. Long and short: I’ve fired him (for being fundamentally bad at his job). I changed my Namecheap info and all that beforehand (my hosting company and where I bought the domain from) but can’t login to my own ‘back end’ of the site via wp-admin.

As is probably abundantly clear from the way this is written, I frankly don’t understand what is going on. All I know is that I need this fixed, without anybody going on about changing the wp-config files because this means literally zero to me.

Is anyone available to help, using the most basic layman terminology ever crafted…?! My eternal gratitude is the reward. And a warm inner glow from having done something good for a non-geek :)

Hey there, you’ve posted your question in the support forums for sites hosted on WordPress.com.

Your above site booksandbicycles appears to be using the standalone WP software. You can get help for your self-hosted site over at https://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums, you’ll need to register one there. You can do so by clicking the Register link in the upper right corner of that page.

WP and WPcom are separate entities; you might want to read this support doc to understand the differences: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Your hosting provider seems to be NameCheap. You might want to contact their support as well.
