Urgent help needed with importing to WP

I have my website ourownfuture.org made with WP but hosted on another server. I want to keep it but no longer use it so I don’t want to pay for it. I can no longer access my admin page for this site so can’t do anything with it.
I downloaded all the files from the other server and they told me to use the xml file to import but there is no xml file. I’ve now got 2 days to migrate it to a free WP site but am at a loss as to what to do. Please help! -

If you cannot access your Admin Page perhaps you can request your former web hosting provider to do the Export for you.
You do need to have your old site online so the XML import here can pull in your media files.

Thanks. I managed to find an older xml file which did the trick. I have another question though. The domain name I’d like to use isn’t available as I’d deleted it when I transferred my hosting previously. I’d like to get it back but it says it’s already in use. How can I change this?

@elliotfuture make sure XML is as current as possible. If you need help recovering access to the old dashboard, this may help:

Also, please be sure you get your site (and its images) imported before the old host closes your account. I’ll email about the other request. Cheers :)
