Urgent: Media PDF delete – media cache
-
Hi
I have deleted an mistakenly uploaded PDF which I have sent a link in an email for. I have ‘permanently deleted’ this from wordpress backend, but the link is still continues to work. If I had known I would have edited the link address, but now it’s not available in media library.
Please delete from wordpress media cache immediatelyClick to access 323ae88a-1514-4adc-a32f-9b454e0f01c7-vaf.pdf
Many thanks

Hi there,
That site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, and that file was not stored on our servers.
If I try to visit that link I get a Page Not Found error, so it looks like it has been deleted. If you’re still able to visit it, it’s likely a cached copy in your browser you’re still loading. Try clearing your browser cache and stored internet files and see if that helps. Also check with your hosting provider and make sure they’re not still caching the file somewhere on their servers.
Also note that if the file has already been indexed by search engines it might be cached on their servers as well, allowing someone to access it via a Google Search, for example. In that case you’ll need to contact the individual search engines directly to request that they remove the file.
