Urgent, Widget Idget Is Going to be the death of me
-
OK, for three straight days, I’ve been battling this non sidebar widget. I have put it in a post. I want it to display on others sidebars so that it will redirect back to my blog. I need someone to test it for me. I don’t know that anyone has actually tested it. I am running a fundraiser for a nonprofit and I have a sponsor so this is important that I get this widget to work today or I’m going to need to tell the sponsor and probably lose them.
I was told that wordpress doesn’t allow this type of code in a post on wordpress.com so—does this work if posted on a non wordpress blog? thanks! It’s at the bottom of this post if the code below doesn’t display properly:
http://wp.me/pbhKR-1B1<div style=”width:180px; text-align:center;”><img src=”http://flowergardengirl.wordpress.com/files/2009/10/pw-logo-final.jpg” alt=”Flowergardengirl” style=”border:0px;” />
Garden Bloggers Operation Christmas Child</div>The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I could use this code from photo bucket in that code. would that work better and not try to use the image from wordpress?
-
I tested it on my flowergardengirl.org site and it tested fine. Doesn’t anyone have a blogger site or other such nonsense that they can test it on—if you don’t I sure don’t blame you. Nothing better than wordpress I agree. That’s why I can’t test it on nothing else. I don’t have any other host but wordpress. Ha!
-
You image link should work fine.
<div style=”width:180px;text-align:center;”><img src=”http://flowergardengirl.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/pw-logo-final.jpg” alt=”Flowergardengirl” style=”border:0;” />
Garden Bloggers Operation Christmas Child</div>I modified the above code for the link.
-
Ahh I see whats happening (stupid mistake on my part)
It works fine with the href tag added.
-
<div style="width:180px;text-align:center;"><img src="http://flowergardengirl.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/pw-logo-final.jpg" alt="Flowergardengirl" style="border:0;" />
Garden Bloggers Operation Christmas Child</div>
works fine.
-
ill get this right at some point.
<div style="width:180px;text-align:center;"><img src="http://flowergardengirl.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/pw-logo-final.jpg" alt="Flowergardengirl" style="border:0;" />
Garden Bloggers Operation Christmas Child</div> -
So It did work? And thank you? I still need someone to try it on a non wordpress blog just to make sure.

Looks like you are saying same thing. It just displays that way when it gets posted. Same thing happened to me when I posted it to this thread. I understand. All the code does not display.
-
Well, let me know if someone tries it on a non wordpress blog. I was only worried cause a forum I was on someone told me wordpress.com would not let you link back in your post in such a way. I stand a chance of raising a lot of money for this organization and I do not want to mess it up for the kids with a blurp in some code I didn’t understand. I’d rather ask and be a fool three times than not ask and lose money for the kids.
Oh, and ya’ll go over and give won’t you?

Hey look Chris, success—I forgot I even had this blog from a long time ago…http://coppertopcottage.blogspot.com/ I might need to resize the widget but it works. I put it in the html gadgets. Might need to tell folks that.

Thank you raincoaster—and guess what….the saga continues….some bloggers have informed me that the code still doesn’t work on their blogs so maybe it’s that it just won’t work on some themes? I tested it on my wordpress .org site and the unused blogspot site…..they both work so I’m clueless.

We can’t possibly help until you post the exact code you’re trying to use here in the forum, between backticks. Code is exacting.
-
CMIIAW but you may want to eliminate the ‘style’ for setting the border. It should work this way:
<p align="center"><a href="your_URI_link"><img src="imgage_URI" width="180px" border="0" />
hope it works :) -
Rats! Sorry…not that fast, I forgot to close the tag:
<p align="center"><a href="your_URI_link"><img src="image_URI" width="180px" border="0" /></a></p>
it should work just fine now :) -
‘<p align=”center”><img src=”http://flowergardengirl.wordpress.com/files/2009/10/pw-logo-final.jpg” width=”180px” border=”0″ /></p>’
Will someone test this for me??? So I put those back ticks in to see if that would post it here correctly. I’m trying ya’ll.
