  Hello,
  I’m just starting out with blogging. I have a blog set up in wordpress.com. But what I want is to attach my wordpress blog to my website.

  I want the address of my blog to be http://www.mywebsitename.com/blog.
  Right now my URL is mywebsitename.wordpress.com

  Can anyone help me. I have a site hosted by Register.com

  And when you look at that FAQ, pay close attention to the language on sub-directory versus sub-domain. You can do the latter here, but not the former, which is what you are suggesting.

  Yes, I when to the FAQ about mapping (thanks for the info, rosclark),and I did fine that they were talking about domains and not subdirectories.

  Is there any way of doing what I wanted to do.

  I simple want to make a blog link or button on my home page and it to open up my blog with the address of mywebsite.com/blog

  No. The FAQ is quite clear that you cannot use subdirectories. If all you want to do is put up a link, it doesn’t matter if it is a subdirectory or a subdomain. (I use a subdomain for my own blog, BTW.) The only problem you might run into is that your domain host may not give you subdomains. (
