  I own my own name as a URL, however, when I set up my WP.com website, WP inserted wordpress in the middle of my URL. I’d like the URL not to include wordpress. Is that possible? How is it done?

  Each WordPress.com account has a free .wordpress.com site address. This free site is going to connect your custom domain to your WordPress.com account.

  To add use your custom domain, follow these instructions to set up domain mapping: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/
