  I signed up for a paid personal account directly through wordpress. It clearly states that my url WILL NOT have wordpress in it, but it does. How do I get my url to read exactly as the domain I purchased??

  Howdy mimiconner!
  Do you have a domain registered with WordPress.com here? If so you can use this guide to get it configured Register a Domain
  Or if you have the domain registered elsewhere, ie with some some other service provider you can use this guide to configure the domain
  Map your Domain

  Hello pavanraheja!

  Thank you so much for replying. I did purchase my domain through name cheap, so when I type this url in, it shows a page that says “this URL was purchased through name cheap.
  I believe I did this step for map your domain. Maybe. It does show on my domains, and says “mapped” I’ve marked it as primary as well. If I try to type the domain into a fresh url it does not show up. I’m a beginner, clearly, so it’s hard for me to make sure I’ve done it right but it seems right.
