  Hi my URL is wwwdotourweddingdetails.com why does it spell dot instead of being an actual .

  can this be changed

  Hi there! I suspect that when you attempted to register your domain name, you may have typed, “www.ourweddingdetails.com”. The problem with this is that when registering a domain, you do not type www in front of the actual domain name.

  For instance, I see that you also use ourweddingdetails.net — and www was not entered before the actual domain name.

  Since the www. isn’t a true root domain name, I believe the “.” was spelled out by the system.

  Domain names cannot be edited once they are registered, so changing the existing name isn’t an option. However, if you’d like, I can cancel wwwdotourweddingdetails.com and credit your account $18 so you can register a different name.

  If you’d like to proceed with this plan, let me know, or tell me if you have another preference.

  I should warn you that if you cancel a domain name, it could take several weeks for our registrar to release it, and once they do, it might not become available to you again. I am guessing this might not be an important factor, as you don’t seem to like the name, wwwdotourweddingdetails.com. However, I did want you to have all the information before deciding how to move forward.
