URL address

    Hi!I created a site ‘sheffieldclt.wordpress’ under one account, but then I deleted because I wanted to create the webpage under a new account. Now, when I am trying to create the website it does not give me the option of choosing ‘sheffieldclt.worldpress’. From what I read the URL name does not expire, but giving that I have created that website, is there any way I can use that address again?

    Hi @shefcoho ,

    Once you delete a .wordpress.com domain you (nor anyone else) are able to use that specific domain again, ever. That is why WordPress.com has placed numerous warnings about this throughout the deletion process.

    You are correct that a .wordpress.com URL does not expire. Only custom domains need renewed annually, these are domains that do not have .wordpress as part of the address and simply end with .com, .net, .org, etc…

    You can register a different domain name here: http://wordpress.com/start/domains/
