  Is it possible to have wordpress change are blog url name?

  Short, sweet, to the point TT, I like it! ;)

  It is however possible to start a second blog with the same user name, make it the primary blog and then delete the original one. Bear in mind that you’ll need to import posts and comments from the old blog and you’ll lose any search engine ranking you may have.

  Cody may be thinking about Domain Mapping though. That’s a feature that’s coming soon.

  It would be fantastic to have Domain Mapping available!
  For now though I have the same question as “codykline” the OP.
  I know he has already been answered. Im just curious about the option in our profiles, that allows one to change the
  “Website URL” under > Contact Info.

  Or am I misunderstanding that? I’m asking because, I’d love for my URL to be my blog name, and not my user name. If this is at all possible. Would that affect my RSS and other accounts I have set up like technorati, site meter etc.?

  Or would I [gasp] have to go to all and do a switch over? Or worse yet create new accounts?

  The website URL in My Profile is just a link that you give. It shows up when you make Posts (Sometimes. Depends on the theme) or comments. You can do the same thing here in teh forums if you were to modify your profile here. You will note that I point to my blog hosted offsite.
