URL/DNS issue

    I have a domain that I purchased on Namecheap but wanted to use a wordpress site to build. Somehow I connected the new-hope-foundation.org domain with wordpress but never transferred it as I am still able to access the advanced DNS settings. The tech team from the URL that I needed the A Record pointed to said somehow it’s pointing to an AWS route 53 URL. I don’t have an AWS route 53 URL and never had one. A couple days Ago i deleted the wordpress site from my purchases thinking it may help. Is there a period of time that WP needs before it releases the URL back to Namecheap? Please help!

    Hi there!

    You never transferred your domain to us, so there’s not much we can affect here. However, if you want to change your DNS and A record to point to another site hosted elsewhere, you need to do that at Namecheap. They’re the ones who have access to those settings and are the only ones who can help you here.

    Also, changes to NS and A records are not instant – they can take up to 24-48 hours to fully propagate across the internet so if you just changed the nameservers from the WordPress.com ones, that might be what you’re seeing.
