url for image?

Hi again! I’m about to take the plunge and buy the CSS upgrade so I can change colors (that’s all) on my blog. But I’m confused about posts that I see talking about needing an url to upload an image into the header once you have the CSS upgrade. It’s scaring me away from CSS! My image is on my computer. I’m using Kubrick. I can’t make heads or tails out of the image/url question, even after searching for info. Any info?

The header has to be uploaded to wordpress. Then the URL of that image, in your media library, has to be inserted into the header image section of the CSS. It isn’t difficult if you have even a little understanding of CSS.

Forgive my ignorance, I’ve gone from computer dolt to techo-weenie in one week! How do I upload the photo to WordPress…every now and then when I’m putting a photo in a post a gallery of sorts appears, but I have to admit, I haven’t made heads or tails out of the technology. I did finally manage to figure out how to upload to my post with the browser when the flash died on me after four days of use!

You can upload either from media > add new in the left hand navigation panel, or you can open a new post and use the insert image function, but stop short of inserting it into a post. You can then get the image URL by going to media > edit, click the show button, and the URL of the image will show in a grey box on that page.

That’s it! I made it almost far enough with the new post technique, but didn’t know about going into the media section on my dashboard…now I know where to find it. You’d laugh to see the pile of stuff in my media section because I kept loading things in over and over again trying to find them.Thank you again, you seem to be the blog guru for me so far.
