URL for images?
-
Hi! I purposely bought a domain name through wordpress to redirect my blog to because my husband’s firewall at work blocks out the name “wordpress”. This got us around him actually being able to access the blog, but he can’t seem to access the images. They are showing with the blank boxes and little red x’s on them(thumbnails). When he clicks on them, it tries to take him to a url with “wordpress” in it which then gets blocked by the firewall.
I was hoping by purchasing my own domain name, everything would be switched to that and he’d be able to see the blog in its entirety (the whole point of the blog is basically picture sharing).
Is there anyway to manually change the url to get rid of the wordpress in it so he can still access everything?
Thanks!!! -
I am not entirely sure I understand you. Your blog shows images fine in all other browsers and places? To me, the problem seems to be with his security settings. But I’m not sure.

Unfortunately, no. The domain mapping simply makes it appear as if the blog is hosted elsewhere. All uploads are still in the original un-mapped domain space.
One possible solution, albeit a bit of a pain, is to upload the photos to a service such as photobucket or flickr and use that url.

Thanks ellaella – I was afraid of that. I’m sure photobucket, flickr and any other photo hosting sites are also blocked by the firewall. Bummer. I was really hoping to be smarter than the company, but apparently I’m not! :)
Thanks for answering!
