Hi,
If you’ve followed the steps in the Getting a Calendar Link section of the Upcoming Events support page, then on which step do you have difficulty? Step 3. says: “Click on the green ICAL button (next to Calendar Address).” Doing so will display the iCalander URL. Step 4. just says to copy and paste that URL.
-
I’ve called for staff attention because I’m not sure if the ‘iCalendar URL” and “iCalendar feed URL” are the same thing.

Hello @koolbeanz247 and @musicdoc1,
I hope it’s okay for me to jump in. iCal URL and iCal Feed URL are just the same.
@koolbeanz247 do you use Google Calendar? I made you screenshots on how to add Upcoming Events widget from Google Calendar:
We’ll work on your Google Calendar first.
1. Login to your Google Calendar through this link:
https://calendar.google.com/
2. Click the Settings icon on the upper right to expand options. It looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/LuYDfmM.png
3. Select Settings.
4. On the upper right hand side (under Google logo) you will see this: https://i.imgur.com/0ZMJuII.png – Click on Calendars. Then this will show you a list of your Calendar/s.
5. Click on the Calendar you wanted to show in your widget.
6. On the upper right hand side (under Google logo) you will see this menu – https://i.imgur.com/6rWbhHx.png – click on Share this Calendar.
7. Then you will see this – https://i.imgur.com/vEgiq8O.png – make sure that there’s a check mark in Make this Calendar Public.
8. On this menu – https://i.imgur.com/6rWbhHx.png – click on Calendar Details to go back to the previous page.
9. Scroll down to the bottom part, and look for Calendar Address. It should look like this – https://i.imgur.com/8INGBBm.png – click the green one that says ICAL.
10. A pop box will come out that looks like this – https://i.imgur.com/8INGBBm.png – copy the link for the calendar. (the one in blue text)You now have you iCalendar URL.
I am sending you the instructions to add it in your widget in my next post.

@koolbeanz247, now that you already have your iCalendar URL, you’re now ready to add it in your Upcoming Events widget.
1. Go to your website’s Customizer. If you’re working on this site – ibstayfly.wordpress.com – you can click this link below:
https://wordpress.com/customize/ibstayfly.wordpress.com
2. From your side menu (left) – https://i.imgur.com/j5P6MjI.png – click Widgets.
3. Depending on the theme that you use, you will see options similar to this – https://i.imgur.com/Zzo6olF.png – select where you wanted your widget to appear.
4. Then click Add A Widget button to expand options menu that looks like this – https://i.imgur.com/dqfOawv.png.
5. You can use the Search Widgets box at the top, or just look for Upcoming Events . Click it to select.
6. Then you will see this – https://i.imgur.com/7z78UN1.png
Title – You can enter any title you want here or just keep it with “Upcoming Events
iCalendar Feed URL –this is where you will paste the iCalendar URL you copied from Google.
Items to Show – enter the number of events you want to show in your widget.
7. When you’re done click on Save and Publish blue button at the top.Probably depending on the theme that you’re using, you will then see something like this added on your website – https://i.imgur.com/cYL768U.png
