URL hosting

I recently started hosting my websites on Bluehost. My wordpress blog is http://www.sjdunaway.wordpress.com. I am trying to setup a cname on Bluehost so that my domain http://www.sjdunaway.com points to my blog. It has not been working and Bluehost says I need to contact your support because there is something in my blog that keeps redirecting my domain name back so that the two links keep redirecting back to each other. I am highly confused and am not sure what Bluehost is talking about. Hopefully you know!
    Blog url: http://sjdunaway.wordpress.com/

I’m sorry but it’s not possible to map a www subdomain to a WordPress.com blog. You could map blog.sjdunaway.com or some other subdomain instead though. This is because WordPress.com always uses the non-www version of domains.

I’m not sure if I explained myself well, since now I’m confused by your message! Basically I used to host my url, http://www.sjdunaway.com, on Fatcow. It was setup so that when you typed in sjdunaway.com it directed the viewer to my blog sjdunaway.wordpress.com, and it was setup so that you could not see the wordpress url, just the sjdunaway.com url. Now that I’m using Bluehost instead of Fatcow I’m trying to do the same, but it isn’t working. Bluehost says I have to set the domain up in wordpress, which doesn’t sound correct since I didn’t have to before when I used Fatcow. I’m totally confused!

I’m not sure how you had things setup at Fatcow, but it sounds like it may have been in some other way that is no longer possible for you through Bluehost.

If your end goal is to map sjdunaway.com to sjdunaway.wordpress.com, then you should purchase a domain mapping upgrade here at WordPress.com and setup the domain records according to these instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
