URL Icon

I have a .png file I want to insert as a favico.ico item. Can’t change the name either.
Also not sure where in the script the icon is placed for the browser to recognize it..png is a linux equivalent .jpg….might have to find something else?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

PNG images work just fine as blavatars. You can use a PNG, a GIF, or a JPG. WordPress will convert all those as required.

Hi thesacredpath
Worked great on the wp.org site which is where I wanted it to
http://www.memreinforcement.ca
For some reason when I cropped it on wp.com it wouldn’t allow it for security reasons
Oh well…no worriesThankyou and Season’s Greetings!

The “security reasons” message usually comes up when the image is not a gif, png or jpg.
What type of image was it you were trying to use here?
-
I renamed it to ‘favicon.ico. It was a png. It doesn’t really matter
as the wp.org site is the important one.I had to name it that for it to be recognised by the web-browser.
Thanxs Again

I have uploaded a new blavatar twice, once about 4 weeks ago and again 2 days ago. They both said they were successful uploads and I would “see it around wordpress soon,” but it never shows? Whatsup?

@truthdefender, the site linked to your username is not a wordpress.COM blog. If you are talking about a wordpress.COM blog, then we need a link to that blog please.
