  • Hi there,

Are you trying to change your existing video widgets?

Go to My Sites ->Design ->Customize ->Widgets, and click on the video widget you want to change. You should see two buttons – Edit video and Replace video.

Edit video only works for videos uploaded to the site’s media library. To change an existing Youtube video, use the Replace Video option instead. Then you’ll be able to insert the new link.

    Hi,

I already know that :) and that is what I am doing actually and have done many times, but for some reason now I get an error about the youtube link I put in, not beeing a youtube video, so it wont change the video, that is the problem.

  • Okay, I’m able to replicate that. It looks like the widget might be broken with regards to Youtube videos.

I’ve reported it to our developers to fix.

As a temporary workaround, you can try embedding a Youtube video using the shortcode instead in a text widget:

Okay, thank you…I am not that sure that the shortcode is about, but I will try to look into it via your link…But I still hope it will get fixed…

  • The shortcode is just an alternative way to embed the link.

Instead of a video widget, add a text widget, and then add [youtube LINK] inside the widget. Once you publish the changes, the video should embed very similarly to the video widget.
