URL of another blog showing when I go to my blog via WordPress logo

I was logged into WordPress.com and I was reading Rob Crilly’s blog at http://www.robcrilly.com/
I hovered on the ‘W’ logo in the circle over on the left of the navigation bar and traced down to My Blogs and across to my principal blog at http://photographworks.wordpress.com
But when I did this, the title bar and the URL still showed Rob Crilly’s site.
I thought it might be a general problem, or perhaps where the problem was only caused by sites that had their own domain.
So I tried it with other WordPress.com sites and with a WordPress.com site that uses its own domain name ( http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/ ) and in every case when I hover on the ‘W’ and trace down to ‘My Blogs’ the URL changes to http://wordpress.com/#!/my-blogs/
Here is a grab of what I mean with the URL of Rob Crilly’s blog and the title of his blog (great blog that it is) and my blog appearing in the browser space.

When I look at the source of the page, it reads:

That is very weird, and I’ve seen something like this once before, but alas no idea as to the cause or effect. If it hasn’t resolved by January 2nd, report it to staff via your Dashboard Help button.

The issue is because http://www.robcrilly.com/ is using domain forwarding and masking from their registrar, so everything clicked under that domain will appear as http://www.robcrilly.com/
There’s nothing that we can do about this, the issue is with how they’re using masking.

timethief, the user meant that it’s working perfectly for your blog and other mapped domains.
http://www.robcrilly.com/ is not mapped, it’s forwarded and masked, hence the problem.

Yes, that is right TT, there is no problem with http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/
I used your site as an example where there is *not* being a problem.
And I used your site as an example because your site came to mind as using its own domain rather than ‘somename.wordpress.com’
macmanx, where you say thatt http://www.robcrilly.com/ is not mapped but instead is forwarded and masked – is that a problem that should concern me?
If it does not expose me to any risk, then I am not bothered about what Rob Crilly does. I was only concerned if somehow another site was getting into my admin.

No, that shouldn’t concern you. It’s something the blogger is doing wrong.
If anything you could contact the blogger and explain the problem to them, and the benefits of mapping vs masking. :)
