Url patterns for new blog posts

  Hi there, when i create a new post the url of the post defaults to something like:
  http://xxx.wordpress.com/2009/01/10/xxx/

  I’d prefer it to be like:
  http://xxx.wordpress.com/%5Bcatergory_of_page%5D/xxx/

  Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  Only one: that’s not possible at WordPress.com.

  Thanks, so are you saying it is possible if you host the site on your own server? I am thinking of doing that anyway so it would be great if this is possible. Thanks for your reply.

  You can do that with WordPress.org software on a self hosted site. But self hosting is more work and more expensive.
