URL Photo link Problems

  Hi, I’m new to wordpress and I am trying to link images from a Photobucket album to my wordpress, http://www.joeypotts.wordpress.com.

  I am copying and pasting the ‘direct’ link url into wordpress, and the images show up when I am writing the post. However, once published, the images don’t show up, only the ‘moved or deleted’ file image.
  I have other linked images in published pages, and they are working.

  Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas or suggestions, any help would be greatly greatly appreciated!

  Yep. That was what I was looking for. I wanted to make sure I could see the picture. If you go into your post, click on the add media button and then the “From URL” tab, and you put that link in there, you should see a green checkmark if the link is OK. Then you can insert the picture into the post.

  Is that what you are doing to put it in? If not, give that a try and see if it works.

  Hey VP,

  that is what I’ve been doing, and that’s why I don’t understand what is going on…its so strange!

  I have noticed that when I go back to edit the post, all of the images are showing up, but they have little red *’s beside the source option…(?)

  I just put the image into the browser address bar and can see it fine. When I added it to a post in my test blog I got the same “this image has been deleted or moved” message.

  I would see what photobucket has to say about it.

  I know nothing about photobucket but is there a public/private setting on photos? That’s all I can think of. So yes, I’d say contact them.

  @joeypotts: Why don’t you simply copy the image to your computer, then upload it and insert it in your post?

  I went back and checked, and sure enough my photobucket album was set to public. However, I ended up moving the images to my main folder, and then updating the links in wordpress—everything seems to be working now!

  I am having the same problems and I do not use photobucket. After the photo uploads to WordPress, and I hit the insert button, nothing happens. I have an account with Auctiva and have used that to post a photo url and again, the same thing. I get a blank page and nothing happens. I doesn’t matter if the photo has been uploaded directly to wordpress or if I use a photo host with an url (that I have used very successfully in the past.)
