URL Reuse?

  I recently deleted a blog due to the site name and something else changing at the same time without me wanting to. How long will it take to be able to use the same previous URL for the new blog?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Around the time the universe ends – blog names are not recycled even to the original owner. You need to find a new name or use a Custom Domain name and Domain Mapping

  That’s a bummer :/ isn’t there a way to talk to them to get it back? I would love to have it back

  No – you had several warnings that deleting a URL was forever and you agreed that delete was gone forever –

  Here’s a question: I deleted blueboxworld.wordpress.com, then bought the domain blueboxworld.com. Is there a way to use this domain name with wordpress? Can I migrate blueboxworld.com to wordpress, or will wordpress reject that name because blueboxworld.wordpress.com has been deleted?

  WordPress.com is the top level domain here. All free hosted WordPress.com blogs are on .wordpress.com sub-domains and there is no recycling of deleted blog URLs.

  That is why there are warnings that blog deletion is irreversible and it’s why there is a confirmation link sent in an email that must be clicked to delete any blog. You can confirm by reading:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-blog/
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  However, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

  You can map blueboxworld.com to any live blog here – no problem with the old name blueboxworld.wordpress.com – no conflict at all – you just can’t use the deleted URL as the base blog
