Hi there,
I had this URL as my main profile URL – poetrybydilshad.wordpress.com
Then I decided to change it. I gave my main profile URL as writingbydilshad.wordpress.com and I began to create a site with the URL as poetrybydilshad.wordpress.com
But now it says its ’in use’. I’m pretty sure someone else is not using that URL. I think that maybe somehow it still thinks I’m using that URL in my profile.
Can you please help me get it ’unstuck’?

No there isn’t a way to register it. Deleting any .wordpress.com blog URL is not easily done and what you ask to do is not possible. One has to ignore at least three warnings stating that deletion is permanent and irreversible and then click a verification link in an email to delete a blog. That’s because deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

well that just sucks. when I signed up it wasn’t clear that there are two separate URLs – one for my profile and another for my ‘site’. I had no idea these were two separate things. If I had known I would have reserved the poetry link for my site.
