URL versus Blog title
-
What is more important in order to get more visitors, viewers, etc. to your blog? Let’s say, my blog is about pets, is it better to have the word “pet” in your blog title, or in your URL, or both. For example, my blog is http://ocasaz.wordpress.com but the blog is about politics, argentina, and the world. The blog title is Reflections. Should I change the URL, meaning creating a new blog such as, for example: reflectionsonpolitics.wordpress.com? does not matter?
Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Changing the URL will screw up every link that already goes to your blog. If you’re starting fresh, then having the word “Pets” in both title and URL is a good thing, presuming you never want to blog about anything else on that particular blog. If your blog already exists, changing the URL is not always a good idea.

How large is the existing reader group that would be affected by such a change?
How many potential readers both in the present moment and in the future will type “ocasz” into a search engine?
How many potential readers both in the present and in the future will type “Reflections” into a search engine? There are zillions of blogs with that title.
What URL and blog title can you choose that let’s potential readers know what the contents of the blog are when they are using search engines to locate content on Argentinian politics? As a rule of thumb, wherever possible, both the URL and blog title ought to contain relevant keywords that indicate the unique “brand” of your blog. Then targeted readers searching for specific content on Argentinian politics will be able locate the blog more easily.
If you are likewise astute when you assign relevant broad categories and narrower tags to your posts, and you use relevant keywords in the natural flow of the text in your posts without over using them, and you backlink to relevant posts in the most authoritative blogs in your niche posts, then you will be doing the very best you can do to structure your blog in a manner that’s reader and search engine friendly.

I just did a check on your blog. You have only 7 posts that have been indexed by Google and none have been indexed by Bing. So if you are truly determined to make a change now is the time to do it. Waiting until after more posts have been indexed is NOT a good idea. http://ismyblogworking.com/reflexionesdeargentina.wordpress.com

Anyway, timethief, using that ismyblogworking.com site I found out that my blog (the original: ocasaz.wordpress.com has 48 posts indexed and 44 in bing. Does that mena that is not convenient to change to another blog?

This is what I see:
Your blog is indexed by Google (45 results).
Your blog is indexed by Bing (47 results). The decision is yours to make and depends on how strongly you feel about changing and whether you do believe that changing will result in an increase in traffic.
