Uruguayan Spam
-
About every day the most recent message on my blog gets spammed. Somebody leaves a short comment like “LOL, good post”, and a URL or an e-mail address that points to a gambling site. Since my blog is not about gambling, such comments will never be on-topic. The one consistency is that the spammer’s IP address always begins with 190 (the latest was 190.32.89.27), and according to the Whois database, those addresses are from Montevideo, Uruguay.
Is there any way I can block specific IP addresses or e-mail addresses? I’ve spammed so many of them by now, that the filters on my blog ought to recognize them as belong to spammers.

Is Akismet catching them? If not, are your marking them as spam or just deleting them? The latter won’t teach Akismet. It will learn, but not in an instant.
