Usability issue: “Post updated. Continue editing below or go back.”
-
Let me quickly explain what is confusing to me about editing already posted WP blog entries.
Let’s assume I’m logged in into my WP account and I’m browsing my blog.
Suddenly I find a blog post I would like to edit, so I click the “edit” link located somewhere on top/below the post and WP takes me to the post edit screen.
After applying the changes to the post and saving them with “Update post” button WP gives me a message: “Post updated. Continue editing below or go back.”.The last part of the message is a link, but it’s not clear to me what would happen once clicked. What does the “go back” mean? Does it mean “return to the blog post I decided to edit” or maybe “Cancel the changes I’ve just made”? For WP it is the first case, but it should be a no-brainer.
I think it should be changed to a more explanatory phrase, like “Continue editing below or return to the edited post”.
What do you think about it? -
