usage of the email of an old closed wordpress account

Hi there, I have recently decided to delete an old wordpress account with the email (email visible only to moderators and staff) and created a new one with a different email. I wanted to change the email in use, but can’t use the email of the account I had recently deleted but I got the message ‘this email is already in use’ and was wondering if there is a way to use this email for my new wordpress account, or if possible recover my old account using the (email visible only to moderators and staff)?

I am not the saviest of persons, but I believe that once you use an email for a WP account, that email becomes unusable for any future accounts. As for the account recovery, I believe that’s within like 30 days or something? I am not exactly sure.

Hi, that’s correct! When you delete an account it does take 30 days for the data to be purged; after that point you can re-use the same email address for a new WordPress.com account.
