Use a WordPress domain on a new site

    I cannot access my tvfreshwaterfishing.com WordPress site. I created a new WordPress site: tvfishing.wordpress.com. I would like to use my domain tvfreshwaterfishingclub.com for my new site and delete the site that currently uses tvfreshwaterfishingclub.com.

    The site I need help with is tvfishing.wordpress.com.

    Hi there,

    It appears the domain tvfreshwaterfishing.com is not registered anywhere at the moment. Is it spelled correctly?

    If you’d like to use the domain with your WordPress.com site, you can upgrade your WordPress.com site to a paid plan (See our plans and pricing here) and then register a domain by following the instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/register-domain/

    After registering a domain, you’ll be able to make the custom domain primary by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/#set-a-primary-address

    Upgrading your site to a paid plan is required because without a paid plan, you won’t be able to set a custom domain as primary.

    I think you are mistaken. tvfresHwaterfishingclub.com is registered and used on WordPress site by the same name.

    tvfresFwaterfishing is NOT registered. Note the difference in spelling.

    I own tvfresHwaterfishingclub.com but I cannot log into the WordPress site by the same name. I have submitted numerous requests for assistance and have received many responses, but still cannot log in.

    So, I have created a new WordPress site: tvfishing.wordpress.com which duplicates tvfresHwaterfishingclub.com.

    I would sign up for a Personal plan if you would delete the current site tvfresHwaterfishingclub.com and assign this domain to tvfishing.wordpress.com.

    I think the confusion was in your initial post where you first used tvfreshwaterfishing.com and then later mentioned tvfreshwaterfishingclub.com. To clarify, tvfreshwaterfishing.com isn’t a domain you own or want to own?

    tvfresHwaterfishingclub.com is under a different account than the one you are contacting us from. You’ll need to log into the account connected to the domain in order to make any changes.

    If you do not remember the login credentials, please fill out our account recovery form, and we’ll see what we can do to assist you in regaining access to your account.

    You can use the transaction ID on your bank statement from when you purchase the domain upgrade to submit the account recovery form.
