Use Existing Domain

  If I have a purchased domain from WordPress.org, do I use that? Why when I choose it am I promoted to purchase a plan?

  Hi @socialparameter,

  To use a custom domain with WordPress.com a ‘Personal’ plan is required. Alternatively, with this plan a free domain can be included for 1 year.

  I have a domain that I purchased through BlueHost for wordpress.org. I am wondering if I am to use that, or not? If not, do I create a free one through WordPress.com and then connect through plug-ins?

  If you wish to build a site here at WordPress.com rather than over at Bluehost you’ll need to paid plan to enable you to map your domain to a wordpress.com site.
