Use full width of twenty fourteen content area
-
I’m using the twenty_fourteen theme and want a simple page that has a top and left menu bars. The default content area uses only about half the page width. I’d like to use the full page wide for content.
I’ve tried fixes from several wordpress posts, but none have worked so far.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Twenty_Fourteen shows an example (second screen shot down) that should do what I need, but I haven’t been able to make it so. What to do…?

Hi Wrenworks, do you need help with a WordPress.com site, or are you running WordPress on your own host? These forums are for folks hosted here at WordPress.com.

That screenshot has simply cropped out the area that would be empty on a larger screen. :) It’s not a guide to making Twenty Fourteen full-screen.
I’d suggest you post over in the Twenty Fourteen forum at WordPress.org, which is where you can get help with a self-hosted site.
