  How can I use genius plug-in wordpress.com?

  Hi there,

  That sounds like an awesome plugin ;)

  However, WordPress.com already comes pre-installed with its own suite of plugins that are ready to use. So installing your own plugins is not an available feature.

  If using your own plugins is critical to your website, then have a look into creating a self-hosted site using the WordPress.org flavor of WordPress. There’s more info here on the two versions:

  Thank you for your quick reply. What I am wanting to do is have hidden comments that will reveal only when you scroll over a marked or highlighted text. And that’s what genius annotator does. They way they are promoting it suggests that it is a standard sort of use of plug in for wordpress. I do not have self hosted site capability so that’s why I was trying out wordpress.com not wordpress.org

  I believe the plugin you are referring to can be found in the WordPress.org repository:
  https://wordpress.org/plugins/genius/

  Therefore, you will have to try that plugin out on a self-hosted WordPress.org site.

  WordPress.com sites do not allow users to install any plugins.
