Use metadata parameter in Post API on free plan

  Hi,

  I am trying to set custom metadata to a post using:

  https://developer.wordpress.com/docs/api/1.2/post/sites/%24site/posts/new/

  However, it doesn’t seem to work. Can you confirm if it should work for free wordpress.com sites?

  Hello there,

  This isn’t possible on a free plan for WordPress.com.

  Instead, you would need a business plan to be able to edit raw files as described above.

  That said, you can add a meta title via the Site Identity tab via Appearance > Customize > Site Identity.

  It’s also possible to use a post excerpt: https://wordpress.com/support/excerpts/

  On the business plan, you could use a plugin like Yoast SEO to help with SEO requirements.
